NEW DELHI - India's services exports rose 14.6% on year to $32.58 billion in September, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Thursday. Imports, meanwhile, increased 13.2% to $16.51 billion, resulting in a services trade surplus of $16.07 billion.
In August, services exports and imports amounted to $30.34 billion and $16.42 billion, respectively.
For the September quarter as a whole, the data showed that the services trade surplus stood at $44.67 billion, up 12?ch from $39.73 billion in Apr-Jun and $39.94 billion in the second quarter of 2023-24 (Apr-Mar). Taking into account goods trade data, India's total trade deficit in Jul-Sept was $29.36 billion, as per provisional numbers released so far. The combined trade deficit was $25.40 billion in Apr-Jun and $24.60 billion in Jul-Sept 2023.
