The Confederation of Indian Industry has suggested the government reduces tax rates-—income tax, excise duty on fuel--in the Budget for 2025-26 (Apr-Mar) to help bolster consumer demand. Finance Minister Nirmala Siatharaman is likely to present the Union Budget for FY26 on Feb. 1.
