NEW DELHI – Prices of mustard in the benchmark market of Jaipur fell today due to subdued demand from domestic oil millers and crushers amid higher supply, while prices of soybean in Indore declined tracking global cues.

* MUSTARD was sold at 6,375-6,400 rupees per 100 kg, down 25 rupees from Wednesday. Arrivals were pegged higher at 235,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg) compared with 225,000 bags the previous day.

* Prices are seen moving in a range of 200 rupees per 100 kg amid expectations of higher arrivals, said Rupesh Parekh, a trader with Marudhar Trading.

* Farmers are rushing to clear their stock amid improved weather conditions, and ahead of the arrival of next season's kharif crop, he said.

* Prices of SOYBEAN fell in Indore today, tracking losses in benchmark soyoil contracts on CBOT, said N.K. Agarwal, an Indore-based trader. Today, soybean was sold at 4,800-5,000 rupees per 100 kg, down 200-300 rupees from Wednesday, while arrivals remained flat at 3,000-4,000 bags (1 bag = 90 kg).

* Erratic weather conditions and the likely arrival of crop from the new season are weighing on soybean prices, Agarwal said. * The new crop is expected to arrive in the market during September-end or the beginning of October, he said.  End
