--CSB Bank: Total deposits INR 468.89 bln as on Sept 30, up 18% YoY 

--CSB Bank: Gross advances INR 423.73 bln as on Sept 30, up 22% YoY 

 

MUMBAI – CSB Bank's gross advances grew 22% on year to INR 423.7 billion as of Sept. 30, according to provisional business updates released by the bank. Gross advances stood at INR 408.7 billion at the end of June and INR 347.1 billion a year ago, implying sequential growth of around 3.7%.

 

Total deposits rose 18% on year to INR 468.9 billion, compared with INR 396.5 billion a year ago. Deposits increased from INR 454.2 billion at the end of June. Term deposits grew 22% on year to INR 380.0 billion, compared with INR 312.6 billion a year ago, while low-cost current account, savings account deposits increased 6% to INR 88.9 billion from INR 83.9 billion.

 

Advances against gold and gold jewellery, excluding receivables secured against gold, increased 36% on year to INR 223.0 billion, from INR 164.6 billion a year ago. The gold-backed advances rose from INR 219.1 billion at the end of June.

 

CSB Bank had reported a net profit of INR 1.50 billion for the June quarter on total income of INR 15.16 billion. Thursday, shares of the bank closed 2% lower at INR 304.75 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
