NEW DELHI – The government has extended the remission scheme for exporters till Dec. 31, according to a notification issued Wednesday. The rates and value caps under the scheme remain unchanged, the commerce ministry said.
"...the Central Government hereby notifies that the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) Scheme shall continue up to 3lst December 2026 (Dec. 31) and shall be available for exports made by Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) units, Advance Authorisation (AA) holders, Special Economic Zone (SEZ) units and Export Oriented Units (EOUs)," the ministry said in the notification.
Earlier this month, the commerce ministry had sought a five-year extension for its flagship export promotion scheme, Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products. Under the scheme, launched in 2021, the government reimburses exporters for duties and taxes paid on imported inputs.
In the Budget for 2026-27 (Apr-Mar), the budget allocation for the scheme is INR 100 billion. The government had allocated INR 182.32 billion for the scheme in FY26. End
