NEW DELHI - Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Monday met Jordan's Planning and International Cooperation Minister Zeina Zeid Toukan and discussed enhancing bilateral trade between the two nations to $5 billion by 2030. The two ministers also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation spanning various fields, particularly food security, fertilisers, and trade and investment, the finance ministry said.

Toukan said India is a critical market for Jordan and that Jordan is keen to continue and strengthen cooperation in many sectors, including fertilisers, energy, water and infrastructure projects, and looked forward to more investment opportunities.

The two ministers met at the sidelines of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank's annual meeting in Doha, Qatar.
