NEW DELHI – Fitch Ratings Monday assigned a credit rating of a 'BBB-' with a stable outlook to the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development's global medium-term note programme. The rating is in line with its Long-Term Issuer Default Rating, Fitch said in a release.

"The senior, unsecured payment obligations under the programme will rank pari passu with all of NaBFID's other present and future unsecured and unsubordinated obligations," Fitch said. Set up in 2021, National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development is a specialised development finance institution aimed at supporting the country's infrastructure development.

The rating agency also said negative rating action on the financial institution's Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating will lead to similar rating action on the programme. A positive rating action on NaBFID's Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating will lead to similar rating action on the programme, it added.  End
