NEW DELHI – YES Bank raised $2.0 billion in foreign currency non-resident (banks) deposits under the Reserve Bank of India's special swap facility between Jun. 8 and Aug. 31, according to two officials aware of the matter. Under the facility, the central bank is absorbing the entire hedging cost for three-to-five year FCNR(B) deposits through a concessional swap window.

The private-sector lender's collections were lower than the similarly-sized IDFC FIRST Bank, which raised at $3.57 billion in the same period. As per provisional data, the FCNR(B) swap window garnered total inflows worth $127.23 billion, of which a whopping $54.38 billion was received in the scheme's final 10 days. A back-of-the-envelope calculation shows YES Bank mobilised 1.6% of the total FCNR deposits under the special swap facility.

For the June quarter, YES Bank reported a net profit of INR 10.71 billion on total income of INR 98.42 billion. At 1349, the bank's shares were marginally lower at INR 22.50 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
