Canara Bank raised INR 32.00 billion at a weighted average yield of 6.48%, while Karur Vysya Bank raised INR 5 billion at a weighted average yield of 6.69%.
"Both markets were active and better as expected due to the ample liquidity and mutual funds were on the buying side," a dealer from a brokerage firm said.
Secondary-market turnover in CPs also rose to INR 58.40 billion from INR 29.65 billion a day earlier. However, CP issuances fell to INR 55.40 billion as of 1750 IST from INR 63.51 billion on Friday, indicating that primary-market borrowing remained active despite higher secondary-market activity.
Tata Steel Ltd., Sharekhan Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Investment Ltd., HSBC InvestDirect Financial Services Ltd., HDB Financial Services Ltd., Hero FinCorp Ltd., and SBICAP Securities Ltd. were among the issuers.
