India's WPI inflation rises to 9.68% in May, as per new series

NEW DELHI – The Ministry of Commerce and Industry Thursday released inflation data based on the new Wholesale Price Index for May, which has 2022-23 (Apr-Mar) as the base year, updated from FY12 in the old series.
LATEST: The all commodities WPI index was 109.9 in May, up 1.0% from 108.8 in April. WPI inflation was 9.68% in May, up from 8.26% in April and (-)0.20% in May 2025.
NEXT UPDATE: The commerce ministry will detail the WPI data for June on Jul. 14.
