Heavy rainfall seen over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim Sat-Fri, says IMD

MUMBAI – Fairly widespread rainfall is likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and also Sikkim during Saturday to Friday, over Gangetic West Bengal from Wednesday to Friday, and over Odisha on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department said.
The IMD also said fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from Saturday to Friday.
India's South Peninsula may face fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe from Saturday to Friday; and over Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam next week.
The IMD has forecast a Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Haryana and neighbourhood at the lower tropospheric level, an upper air cyclonic circulation over some parts of West Rajasthan in lower tropospheric level, as also an upper air cyclonic circulation over East Assam and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric level. It has also forecast cyclonic circulation over parts of Tamil Nadu and Telangana, it said in a release.
Under the impact of these systems, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds are likely over parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh on Saturday and over West Rajasthan from Monday to Wednesday.
Isolated to scattered rainfall is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, as also over Uttarakhand under the impact of cyclonic circulation from Saturday to Friday, and in Himachal Pradesh from Sunday to Friday, India Meteorological Department said. On Saturday, Himachal Pradesh is likely to witness fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, it said.
In the Central India region, Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and west Madhya Pradesh may face rainfall in some parts from Saturday to Friday. Additionally, isolated thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds with speed reaching 40-50 kilometres per hour gusting to 60 kmph are likely over East Madhya Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh from Sunday to Tuesday, IMD said.
