MUMBAI – RBL Bank raised its interest rates on foreign currency non-resident dollar-denominated bank deposits for tenures ranging from three to five years by up to 205 basis points to 6.25-6.35% effective Friday, according to an update on the bank's website. The bank reduced interest rates for tenures ranging from one to less than three-year deposits. 

 

The Reserve Bank of India's dollar-rupee swap facility for fresh deposits is applicable on a minimum tenure of three years and maximum tenure of five years. The central bank has allowed banks to price these deposits as per their internal policy, but within the overall regulatory ceiling.

 

The lender's net profit for the March quarter was INR 2.30 billion, up over 234% on year and more than 7% on quarter. Friday, shares of the bank closed 1.9% higher at INR 365.85 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.
