India May CPI inflation 3.93% vs 3.48% in April

NEW DELHI – The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation Friday released the latest inflation data based on the new CPI series, which has 2024 as the base year. The earlier series had 2012 as the base year for calculating price changes.
LATEST: The general CPI index was 105.9 in May, 0.8% higher than 105.1 in April. Inflation in May was 3.93%, up from 3.48% in April.
NEXT UPDATE: The government will detail CPI data for June on Jul. 13.
