MUMBAI – Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. Friday said it would increase the prices of its cars by up to 1.5% across models to partially offset the impact of rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures. The company had previously increased car prices by an average of 0.5% across only models with internal combustion engines from April onwards. The latest car price hike includes electric and conventional vehicles, it said in an exchange filing.

"While TMPV continues to absorb a significant portion of these increases, a part of the impact is being passed on to customers through this adjustment," Tata Motors PV said. "The extent of the price increase will vary across models and variants, ensuring that the overall value proposition of each offering is maintained," it added.

For the March quarter, the company's consolidated net profit was INR 57.83 billion on revenues of INR 1.05 trillion. At 1147 IST, its shares traded 1.2% higher at INR 380.95 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
