--RBI: Sahamati Foundation self-regulatory organisation for acct aggregators
MUMBAI – The Reserve Bank of India has recognised Sahamati Foundation as a self-regulatory organisation for the account aggregator ecosystem, it said in a release. Sahamati Foundation had submitted an application to the banking regulator last year, seeking recognition as such organisation, after the RBI invited applications.
The application was examined against the requirements prescribed under the framework for recognising self-regulatory organisations for the account aggregator ecosystem dated Mar. 12, 2025. The framework provides a comprehensive outline of the characteristics, responsibilities, eligibility criteria, and governance-related aspects for such organisations. The central bank had invited applications under the framework by June 15, 2025. End
