--Central Bank of India appoints Vivek Kumar as CFO for 3 years
NEW DELHI – Central Bank of India Wednesday said it has appointed Vivek Kumar as its chief financial officer for three years. Kumar, previously the general manager (finance and accounts) at the bank, replaces Mukul N. Dandige, who retired on May 31.
The 55-year-old Kumar has been at Central Bank of India since 1999. He holds a masters degree in management studies and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, the bank said in an exchange filing.
Kumar has worked in the areas of retail, credit, financial inclusion, general banking, merchant banking, and was also the chairman of a regional rural bank.
The state-owned bank reported a net profit of INR 7.24 billion for the March quarter, down 30% on year. Shares of the lender Wednesday closed 2.3% higher at INR 30.29 on the National Stock Exchange. End
