--Cabinet OKs INR 39.36 bln for 4-laning of national highways in Bihar

--Cabinet OKs INR 75.97 bln for 4-laning of national highways in Telangana

--Cabinet OKs INR 44.15 bln for upgrading certain national highway in MP

 

NEW DELHI – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs Wednesday approved the development and upgrade of highways in four states with a total outlay of INR 242.49 billion. These projects will enhance regional mobility and promote socio-economic development, the government said in a release.

 

The Cabinet approved the construction of 160.18-kilometre coastal highway in Odisha from Rameshwar to Paradeep with a capital investment of INR 83.01 billion. It also approved four-laning of the Khagaria-Purnea section of National Highway-31 and National Highway-231 in Bihar. The project to upgrade the 143.53-kilometre stretch in Bihar will be at a cost of INR 39.36 billion.

 

In another project, the Cabinet approved widening of the Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial section of National Highway-63 and four-laning of the Jagtial-Karimnagar section of National Highway-563 in Telangana. These projects will be at a total capital cost of INR 75.97 billion.

 

The Cabinet also gave its go-ahead to upgrade certain highways in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of INR 44.16 billion.  End
