NEW DELHI – Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. Tuesday said the cargo volumes it handled in May rose 16% on year to 48.3 million tonnes. The growth was led by the liquids segment, wherein the volume grew 33% on year, followed by the containers segment, where the metric rose 17% on year, the company said in an exchange filing. Meanwhile the company's logistics rail volume for the month fell 19% on year to 48,170 twenty-foot equivalent units.
Year to date, the company handled 91.4 million tonnes of cargo as of the end of May, up 15% on year. This was led by the containers segment, which recorded a growth of 17% on year.
For the March quarter, Adani Ports reported a consolidated net profit of INR 33.29 billion on revenues of INR 107.38 billion. Tuesday, its shares closed at INR 1,814.50 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.7% from Monday. End
