May UPI transactions hit record INR 29.9 tln, volume tops 23 bln

MUMBAI – Unified Payments Interface transactions touched a record high of INR 29.9 trillion in May, rising 19% on year, according to data released by the National Payments Corp. of India Monday. In volume terms, UPI transactions grew 24% on year to 23.20 billion in May. In April, UPI transactions aggregated to INR 29.03 trillion, with a volume of 22.35 billion.
The average daily transaction count stood at 748 million in May, up from 745 million in April. The average daily transaction amount was INR 964.65 billion in May, down from INR 967.66 billion in April. End
