MUMBAI – Bajaj Auto Ltd. Monday said its two-wheeler despatches grew 18% on year to 393,204 units in May, marking the slowest growth in the last five months. The two-wheeler despatches fell almost 11% on month, dragged down by poor export performance. Overall, the company sold 461,257 automobile units to dealerships in India and abroad, up 20% on year but down 10% on month.

 

Bajaj Auto sold 248,031 automobiles to domestic dealerships in May, up 10% on year and slightly lower on month. Their exports grew 34% on year but dropped nearly 20% on month to 213,226 units. 

 

Domestic sales of two-wheelers grew nearly 10% on year but fell mildly on month to 209,528 units while their exports grew 30% on year and fell a touch over 20% on month to 183,676 units.

 

Sales of Bajaj Auto's commercial three-wheelers grew 30% on year but fell nearly 8% on month to 68,053 units. Domestic despatches of the Pune-based automaker's three-wheelers grew 12% on year and about a percent on month to 38,053 units. Their exports surged 65% on year but fell 17% on month to 29,550 units.

 

APR-MAY

Bajaj Auto sold 975,049 automobiles to dealerships in India and abroad in 2026-27 (Apr-Mar) so far, up 30% on year. Domestic sales grew 11% on year to 496,241 units while exports grew even faster at 57% to 478,808 units.

 

Despatches of two-wheelers in Apr-May grew 28% on year to 833,157 units while that of three-wheelers grew 42% to 141,892 units.

 

For the March quarter, Bajaj Auto had reported net profit of INR 27.46 billion on revenues of INR 160.06 billion. At 0920 IST, shares of the company traded 0.6% higher at INR 10,525 on the National Stock Exchange.   End
