JSW Steel starts developing 13.2 mtpa Odisha plant with INR 650 billion investment

MUMBAI – JSW Steel Ltd. Wednesday said it has begun developing an integrated steel plant with a capacity of 13.2 million tonnes per annum at Paradeep in Odisha with an estimated investment of INR 650 billion. This is the largest investment undertaken by the company and the plant will be developed in phases, the company said in an exchange filing.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and JSW Group Chairman and Managing Director Sajjan Jindal attended the commencement ceremony. The project is spread across 2,950 acres along Odisha's coastline and offers strong port connectivity, access to raw materials, and robust logistics infrastructure. "The project has been master-planned with the long-term potential to expand capacity in the future," JSW Steel said.
For the March quarter, JSW Steel reported a consolidated net profit of INR 163.7 billion on a revenue of INR 511.8 billion. Wednesday, its shares ended at INR 1,309.30 on the National Stock Exchange, up over 1% from Tuesday. End
