NEW DELHI – Paytm Cloud Technologies Ltd., a wholly owned arm of One 97 Communications Ltd., will invest 9 million euros (around INR 999 million) in its arm, Paytm Europe Payments S.A. The transaction is at arm's length and will be completed by Jun. 30, One 97 Communications said in the filing Monday.

 

Paytm Cloud will invest in its wholly-owned subsidiary by subscribing to nine million equity shares of 1 euro each. Paytm Cloud will invest to increase the paid-up capital of Paytm Europe "to support the requirements of funds for its business", as per the filing.

 

Paytm Cloud currently holds 100% of the 1 million-euro paid-up share capital of Paytm Europe. After completion of the transaction, there will be no change in the shareholding of Paytm Europe and it will continue to remain a step-down wholly owned subsidiary of One 97 Communications.

 

Paytm Europe, incorporated on Jan. 12 in Luxembourg, is yet to commence its business in Europe. Shares of One 97 Communications ended at INR 1,097.40 on the National Stock Exchange Monday, down 1.4% from Friday. For the March quarter, One 97 Communications reported a net profit of INR 1.84 billion on total income of INR 24.42 billion.  End
