Govt imposes anti-dumping duty on monoisopropylamine made, exported by China

NEW DELHI – The government imposed an anti-dumping duty of $290 per tonne on monoisopropylamine originating in China or being exported from China for a period of five years, the finance ministry said in a gazette notification Friday. Monoisopropylamine is an intermediate stage chemical reagent and was being dumped from China at lower prices than domestic companies could produce, the government said while levying the anti-dumping duty.
It also extended to Nov. 25 the anti-dumping duty on natural mica-based pearl industrial pigments excluding cosmetic grade coming from China. The pigments are used in the paints and plastics industry for its aesthetics and anti-dumping duty has been imposed since August 2021. Its anti-dumping duty is in four different slabs, up to a maximum of $3,144 per metric tonne. End
