MUMBAI – Federal Bank Ltd. said the Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Elias George as part-time chairman of the bank for a period of three years with effect from Saturday. George was appointed an independent director on the board of the bank for a period of five years since Sept. 5, 2023, the bank said in an exchange filing.
Friday, shares of Federal Bank ended at INR 287.20 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, up over 1%. For the March quarter, the bank had reported a net profit of INR 12.59 billion and a total income of INR 85.44 billion. End
