--RBI OKs reappointing Sandeep Bakhshi as ICICI Bk MD, CEO for 2 yrs 

 

MUMBAI – ICICI Bank Ltd. Friday said the Reserve Bank of India has approved the re-appointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as the bank's managing director and chief executive officer for a period of two years starting Oct. 4. Bakhshi's new term will run till Oct. 3, 2028, the bank said in an exchange filing.

 

ICICI Bank had informed the exchanges on Jan. 17 that its board had unanimously approved Bakhshi's re-appointment, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. The bank said shareholder approval for the re-appointment will be sought in due course.

 

Bakhshi was appointed as the MD and CEO of the private sector bank in October 2018. Prior to his appointment as MD & CEO, he served as a wholetime director and the chief operating officer at the bank.

 

Friday, shares of ICICI Bank ended at INR 1,264.30 on the National Stock Exchange, up nearly 2%. For the March quarter, the bank had reported a net profit of INR 137.02 billion and a total income of INR 505.84 billion.  End
