KOLKATA – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Friday said it is recalling 26 Super Carry cargo vehicles manufactured between Feb. 17 and Feb. 21 because of a potential defect in the front driver seat adjuster assembly, which, in rare cases, may cause unintended sliding of the seat.

In a notice to the bourses, the automobile company said the affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshops for free inspection and replacement of the affected parts.

For the March quarter, Maruti Suzuki's net profit was INR 35.91 billion on revenues of INR 524.49 billion. Friday, its shares closed at INR 12,987 on the National Stock Exchange, down marginally from Thursday.  End
