--RBI fines City Union Bk for not complying with priority sector loan norms
NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of INR 1.01 million on City Union Bank for non-compliance with priority sector loan account norms, the central bank said in a release Friday.
City Union Bank levied loan related charges on certain agriculture priority sector loans worth up to INR 25,000, the regulator said. The private sector lender also failed to report self help group member level data to credit information companies, the RBI said.
For the March quarter, City Union Bank reported net profit of INR 3.60 billion on total income of INR 21.46 billion. Friday, shares of the bank closed 1.4% lower at INR 248.55 on the National Stock Exchange. End
