NEW DELHI – Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. reported a sharp year-on-year rise in its consolidated net profit for the March quarter, boosted by a strong growth across hospital operations and digital health and pharmacy business HealthCo. Its bottom line rose year-on-year for the third consecutive quarter, while the growth in top line during the quarter was the highest in 12 quarters.
The company's consolidated net profit for the quarter rose nearly 36% on year to INR 5.29 billion from INR 3.90 billion a year ago, beating analysts' estimate of INR 4.75 billion. The consolidated revenue rose over 18% to INR 66.06 billion from INR 55.92 billion a year ago, higher than analysts' estimate of INR 64.52 billion.
The consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose 31% on year to INR 10.11 billion in the reporting quarter. "Apollo Hospitals reported strong growth in revenue and EBITDA across all three business verticals, as well as at the consolidated level, reflecting sustained operational momentum and resilient demand across healthcare services," the company said in the press release.
The digital health platform subsidiary Apollo HealthCo's revenue rose nearly 20% to INR 28.48 billion for the March quarter from INR 23.76 billion a year ago. The EBITDA from HealthCo surged to INR 1.56 billion from INR 360 million a year ago. Apollo Hospitals said HealthCo added 176 stores in the March quarter, taking the total store count to 7,289. The company expects to list the pharmacy and digital health business by the March quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Apr-Mar).
"The proposed demerger of our pharmacy and digital health businesses is a strategic step towards enabling sharper focus, accelerated growth, and long-term value creation. Subject to the completion of regulatory and stakeholder processes, the new entity is progressing towards a potential listing by Q4 (March quarter) FY27," the company said in its press release.
The company's revenue from the healthcare services segment, which includes the hospital business, rose over 17% on year to INR 33.34 billion, while EBITDA from the segment increased to INR 7.81 billion from INR 6.86 billion. The hospital operations occupancy rate stood at 68% during the quarter compared with 67% a year ago. The company had 8,131 operating beds as of Mar 31.
Within the healthcare services segment, the Tamil Nadu cluster reported a 14% revenue growth in the March quarter, while the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions posted a 21% growth. Revenue in the Karnataka and eastern regions rose 17% and 16%, respectively. The western region recorded 19% growth in revenue during the March quarter, while the northern region posted 11% growth.
Apollo Hospitals' subsidiary Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd.'s revenue rose 24% on year to INR 4.89 billion from INR 3.94 billion a year ago. EBITDA for the segment increased to INR 750 million from INR 470 million. Separately, Apollo Hospitals has approved the merger of its wholly owned subsidiary, Apollo Hospitals North Ltd., with the company.
For FY26, Apollo Hospitals consolidated net profit rose over 34% on year to INR 19.42 billion against INR 14.46 billion a year ago, while revenue rose nearly 16% to INR 252.29 billion from INR 217.94 billion. The board recommended a final dividend of INR 10 per share for FY26. The record date for the dividend has been fixed as Aug. 14.
The company announced its results post-market hours. Wednesday, shares of the company ended at INR 8,078.50 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.6%. End
