--RBI appoints Gunveer Singh as executive director
NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India appointed Gunveer Singh as executive director with effect from Monday, the central bank said in a release. Singh will look after the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems.
Singh was chief general manager in charge of the department under Executive Director Vivek Deep earlier. He is a chartered accountant and cost and works accountant who has over three decades of experience at the regulator. He has also served as a payment systems expert at the Central Bank of Oman. Other areas of experience at the RBI include banking and non-bank supervision, risk monitoring, and government banking, according to the central bank's release. End
