MUMBAI – Adani Green Energy Ltd. Friday said the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Adani group Chairman Gautam Adani and company Executive Director Sagar Adani have filed their request for entry of final judgment, on consent, before the US Eastern District NY Court Thursday. Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani have consented to the entry of the final judgment without admitting or denying the allegations made in the civil complaint by the US SEC and the payment of a civil penalty of $6 million and $12 million, respectively, Adani Green said in an exchange filing.

The final judgment is awaited, the Adani group said. Last year, the US SEC had filed a fraud case against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani alleging that the Adanis had violated US federal securities laws by making false and misleading representations about Adani Green Energy in connection with a September 2021 debt offering. In a press release on Nov. 20, SEC had said it was charging the Adanis in their capacity as officials of Adani Green Energy "for conduct arising out of a massive bribery scheme."

For the quarter ended March, Adani Green Energy reported a consolidated net profit of INR 3.97 billion on revenues of INR 35.02 billion. Thursday, shares of the company closed 3.5% higher at INR 1,414.90 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
