--Cabinet OKs INR 206.65 bln for Sarkhej-Dholera semi-high-speed double lane
NEW DELHI – The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)–Dholera semi-high-speed double-line rail project with a total outlay of INR 206.67 billion. The project will provide faster connectivity between Ahmedabad and the Dholera Special Investment Region, the upcoming Dholera Airport and the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex, a government release said.
This will be India's first semi-high-speed project with indigenously developed technology. The project covering the Ahmedabad district in Gujarat will increase the existing Indian Railways network by about 134 kilometres. End
