MUMBAI – JSW Steel Ltd. Tuesday said its consolidated crude steel production in April fell 1% on year to 2.12 million tonnes, according to an exchange filing. In India, the company's crude steel output declined 1% to 2.04 million tonnes, while its unit in Ohio, US, produced 78,000 tonnes of crude steel last month, down 7% on year.

JSW Steel's capacity utilisation for Indian operations, excluding the Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar, Karnataka, was 94% and at 83% including the capacity. The company's Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar has been shut for capacity upgrade since September, and is affecting its production in India.

For the December quarter, JSW Steel had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 21.39 billion on revenue of INR 459.91 billion. At 1244 IST, shares of the company traded 1% lower at INR 1,248.80 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
