To sign FTA with India Monday, says New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon

NEW DELHI – India and New Zealand will sign the free trade agreement on Monday, New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said Friday. Both sides concluded negotiations for the deal December last year.
Under the trade deal, New Zealand has committed to zero-duty market access for all Indian goods. New Zealand will also invest $20 billion in India over the next 15 years as per the terms of the agreement. New Delhi has committed to cut tariffs on 95% of goods from New Zealand.
New Zealand has also committed to invest $20 billion in India over the next 15 years under the agreement. To ensure foreign direct investment from New Zealand, the trade deal also has provision for India to withdraw some benefits under the FTA, if the latter does not fulfil its investment commitment. Both sides aim to implement the deal by October. End
