MUMBAI – One 97 Communications Ltd., which owns the Paytm brand, said Wednesday it has become an Indian-owned and controlled company at the end of the March quarter. Domestic investors now hold 50.3% of the company's equity share capital as at the end of the March quarter, the company said in an exchange filing.

 

Domestic institutional ownership of the company increased to 23.1% at the end of the March quarter from 20.3% a quarter ago and 14.0% a year ago, it said. The holding of Indian mutual funds in the company rose to 16.6% at the end of March from 14.3% in the previous quarter. The company said 41 mutual funds hold its shares, reflecting increasing participation of domestic capital in the company," the filing said.

 

For the December quarter, One 97 Communications reported a consolidated net profit of INR 2.25 billion on revenues of INR 21.94 billion. Wednesday, One 97 Communications' shares closed 3.0% ghgher at INR 1,140.10 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
