MUMBAI – Axis Bank Ltd.'s board Wednesday approved a proposal to infuse INR 15 billion into its wholly-owned subsidiary Axis Finance Ltd. through a rights issue before Mar. 31, 2027, the bank said in an exchange filing. The infusion will be in one or more tranches, the bank added.
The Reserve Bank of India had approved the proposal earlier this month, Axis Bank said. The objective for the infusion is to provide growth capital to Axis Finance.
For the December quarter, Axis Bank had posted a net profit of INR 64.90 billion and a net interest income of INR 142.87 billion. At 1056 IST, shares of the bank were traded at INR 1,247.30 on the National Stock Exchange, up over 1.5% from the previous close. End
