--Lok Sabha adjourned for the day amid ruckus 

 

NEW DELHI – The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Monday amid ruckus by Opposition lawmakers, minutes after it reconvened at 1500 IST after an earlier adjournment.

 

The point of contention between the government and the Opposition was whether the House should discuss the conflict in West Asia or the motion to remove the Speaker, for which the Opposition had earlier given a notice. The government insisted that the House must dispose of the business already on the list, that is, the motion to remove the Speaker.

 

The Opposition contended that the situation arising out of the military conflict between the US-Israel combine and Iran must take precedence over everything as it concerns India's energy needs, as well as the lives of hundreds of thousands of Indian workers stuck in West Asia.

 

Amid the deadlock, the Chair adjourned the House for the day. End
