India, Canada hold meeting on cooperation in agri research, farming practice

MUMBAI – India and Canada held discussions on cooperation in agricultural research, technology, equipment, and advanced farming practices. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Scott Moe, premier of Saskatchewan, Canada held a meeting on the same in New Delhi Friday, according to a release from the minsitry.
"...Chouhan highlighted Saskatchewan's role as a reliable partner for India in agricultural inputs, particularly potash, and welcomed the proposal to establish a Canada–India Pulse Protein Centre of Excellence," it said. Discussions also covered collaboration in agricultural research, farm mechanisation, and capacity building. End
