MUMBAI – Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. Friday said the US Department of Justice's Criminal Division has closed its inquiry against the company under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act without recommending any enforcement action. In November 2020, the company had disclosed that it was looking into an anonymous complaint alleging improper payments to healthcare professionals in Ukraine and possibly other countries. These allegations had raised concerns about potential violations of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

On Feb. 23, the Securities and Exchange Commission had informed the company that it had concluded its investigation of the matter and did not intend to recommend enforcement action. This means both regulatory bodies have officially closed their investigations without pursuing enforcement.

For the December quarter, Dr. Reddy's had, on a consolidated basis, posted a net profit of INR 12.1 billion on a revenue of INR 87.53 billion. Friday, its shares closed 0.7% lower at INR 1,303.80 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
