NEW DELHI - The eighth Pay Commission has invited representations from stakeholders on its portal by Apr. 30. The commission has sought representations from associations or unions of serving employees and pensioners, organisations, employees, pensioners, and interested individuals on its website.
"The structured format for submitting memorandum is also available at the MyGov.in portal (innovateindia.mygov.in)," the finance ministry said in a release late Thursday. "The Commission has requested stakeholders to make submissions on the above portal only. Paper-based copies/emails/pdfs may not be considered by the Commission."
The Cabinet had in October approved the terms of reference of the eighth Pay Commission. The commission, chaired by former Supreme Court judge Justice Ranjana Desai, will make its recommendations within 18 months of the date of its constitution.
The commission will make recommendations about changes to the salaries and compensation for central government employees based on the prevailing emolument structure, benefits and working conditions available to employees of public sector companies and private sector, and economic conditions of the country to ensure fiscal prudence. The government had implemented recommendations of the seventh Pay Commission in 2016. End
