MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd. continues to grapple with a slowing of sales growth of its Royal Enfield motorcycles with the company's February motorcycle sales growing at their slowest pace in 10 months. Eicher Motors' total motorcyle sales in February were up 11% on year at 100,905 units. Its exports fell 2% on year to 9,657 units.

Royal Enfield sold 89,844 motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 350 cubic centimetres in February, a rise of nearly 16% from a year ago. However, sales of motorcycles with an engine capacity higher than 350cc were down more than 14% at 11,061 units.

For the 11 months ended February, the company sold 1.13 million Royal Enfield motorcycles, up 24% on year. Exports during this period were up 27% at 119,388 units.

For the December quarter, Eicher Motors had, on a consolidated basis, reported a net profit of INR 14.21 billion on a revenue of INR 61.14 billion. Friday, its shares had closed 2.2% lower at INR 8,010.50 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
