--Eicher Motors: Apr-Feb VE CV sales 90,184 units, up 15.5% on year 

NEW DELHI – Eicher Motors Ltd. Sunday said it sold 9,986 commercial vehicles, up 23% on year, through its joint venture VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. This includes 9,766 Eicher-branded trucks and buses, up 24% on year, and 220 Volvo-branded trucks and buses, up 20% on year.

The company sold 9,165 Eicher-branded trucks and buses to Indian dealerships in February, up 25% on year. This includes 4,947 small commercial vehicles and light-medium trucks with a payload capacity of under 18.5 tonnes, up 41% on year. Sales of heavy-duty trucks surged 54% on year to 2,588 units.

Exports grew 9% on year to 601 units. While exports of small commercial vehicles and light- and medium-duty trucks grew almost 26% on year to 374 units, those of buses fell 23% on year to 184 units.

In Apr-Feb, VE Commercial Vehicles sold 90,184 units, up nearly 16% on year. This includes 87,958 units of Eicher-branded trucks and buses, up 16% on year, and 2,226 units of Volvo-branded trucks and buses, up 1.4% on year.

For the December quarter, Eicher Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 14.21 billion on a revenue of INR 61.14 billion. Friday, its shares closed 2.2% lower at INR 8,010.50 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
