NEW DELHI – The Ministry of External Affairs Saturday issued an advisory to all Indian nationals in Israel to exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times amid the ongoing security situation in the region. A state of emergency has been declared in Israel after the West Asian country, along with the US, launched an attack on Iran Saturday, with multiple explosions heard in Tehran, several media outlets reported.
The Israeli military said it had issued a "proactive alert to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward the state of Israel", Al Jazeera reported. US President Donald Trump also said in a video post on Truth Social that the US has launched major combat operations in Iran. Further, Reuters reported citing an Iranian official that Iran is preparing for retaliation after Israel's attack.
"Indian nationals are strongly advised to strictly adhere to the safety guidelines and instructions issued by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command," the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv said in an advisory posted on social media platform X.
All Indian nationals are advised to remain in close proximity to designated shelters and familiarise themselves with the nearest protected spaces in their area of residence or work, it said. Indians are also advised to avoid all non-essential and unnecessary travel within Israel until further notice, the embassy said.
The embassy has also issued a 24x7 helpline for Indian nationals in Israel. "The Embassy remains closely engaged with the relevant authorities and will continue to issue updates as necessary," it said. End
