India Jan CPI-IW inflation rises to 3.77% from 3.13% in Dec

NEW DELHI – India's CPI inflation for industrial workers rose to 3.77% in January from 3.13% in December, according to data released by the Labour Bureau on Friday. The inflation rate for industrial workers in January 2025 was 3.10%.
The index for CPI for industrial workers increased to 148.6 in January from 148.2 the previous month. CPI inflation for industrial workers in January was lower than the more widely tracked CPI (Combined). Headline CPI inflation was 2.75% in January, according to the new CPI series, which uses 2024 as the base year. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation released the new CPI series in February, which widens coverage and tracks prices of 358 items, sharply up from 299 items in the old series.
