NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday held bilateral talks with Isreli President Isaac Herzog and invited him to visit and explore India. Further, he once again underlined the significance of strengthening bilateral relations between India and Israel.

Earlier in the day, Herzog praised India's economic growth and its talent, and said India is an "essential part of the great future of the Middle East".

"You are right in saying that India-Israel relations can serve the global good, including in science, innovation, educational institutions," PM Modi said during a bilateral meeting with the Israeli president.

Emphasising that water conservation and agriculture are Israel's special areas of expertise, Modi said India has benefitted by adopting the West Asian country's best practices in these areas. "I invite you to visit India. And when you come over, make time to visit other places too, besides Delhi," Modi told Herzog.

Herzog said India's economic growth is "something that is attracting the whole world". "I believe that connectivity between Israel and India can change the entire geostrategic situation towards advantages of the Global South, and the connectivity even between the US and Southeast Asia through the Eastern Hemisphere," Herzog said.

The Israeli president said that with young Indian brains making an impact all over the world, the universities of the two countries should share knowhow "for the future of our young generations", and students should be encouraged to study at each other's universities.
