--RIL step-down arm allots shares worth INR 2.57 bln to Meta Platforms
AHMEDABAD – Reliance Industries Ltd.'s step-down wholly-owned subsidiary Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Ltd. has allotted equity shares to Facebook Overseas Ltd. and another arm of RIL for an investment value of INR 8.56 billion, RIL said in a notice to stock exchanges Wednesday.
As per the notice, Reliance Enterprise Intelligence transferred 596.62 million shares, aggregating INR 5.97 billion, to Reliance Intelligence Ltd. and 256.5 million equity shares, aggregating INR 2.57 billion, to Facebook Overseas.
Incorporated in October 2025, Reliance Enterprise Intelligence is a joint venture between Reliance Industries and Meta to develop and distribute artificial intelligence solutions for Indian businesses.
Post this allotment, Reliance Intelligence holds 70% of total equity capital of Reliance Enterprise Intelligence and the remaining 30% is held by Facebook. Consequently, Reliance Enterprise also ceases to be the step-down wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, the company filing said.
For the December quarter, RIL reported consolidated net profit of INR 186.45 billion on revenue of INR 2.70 trillion. Wednesday, the stock closed over 2% lower at INR 1,398.50 on the National Stock Exchange. End
