--RBL Bank reappoints Chandan Sinha as part-time chairman for 3 years 

 

NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India has approved the re-appointment of Chandan Sinha as the part-time chairman of RBL Bank for three years, the lender said in an exchange filing Monday. Sinha's second term as the part-time chairman will take effect from May 21 and continue till May 20, 2029, the bank said. 

 

Sinha had served as an executive director of the central bank and has been a career central banker for over 35 years, and is associated with banking and financial services for over 40 years. He has held other key positions outside RBI like chief dealer at Securities Trading Corp of India. He was also the RBI nominee director on the board of State Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Union Bank of India, among others. 

 

RBL Bank's net profit for the December quarter jumped up over six-fold year-on-year to INR 2.14 billion. Shares of the bank closed at INR 320.90 on the National Stock Exchange Monday, down 2.5%.  End
