NEW DELHI - The government has disbursed INR 287.48 billion till December, out of the INR 1.91 trillion in incentives earmarked under Production-Linked Incentive schemes. Under the scheme, launched in 2020, cumulative exports exceeding INR 8.3 trillion have been achieved till December, the government said in a release Friday.

As per the release, under 836 applications for PLI schemes across 14 sectors, cumulative investment exceeded INR 2.16 trillion till December, with cumulative sales exceeding INR 20.41 trillion. "These outcomes indicate sustained momentum in investment inflows, production expansion, export growth and employment generation across targeted sectors," the government said.

The scheme incentivises incremental production through performance-linked financial incentives, thereby enabling scale, technology adoption and supply chain integration.

The government gave a break of investments linked to a few sectors that are part of the PLI scheme. For higher efficiency solar PV modules manufacturing, investment commitments of nearly INR 529 billion have been signed, significantly reducing import dependence in the renewable energy sector, the release said.

For automobiles and advanced automotive technology, the PLI scheme has catalysed investments in electric mobility, power electronics and advanced safety systems. Reported sales of INR 329 billion in 2025-26 (Apr-Mar) indicate early momentum in technology-led automotive manufacturing and supplier ecosystem development, the government said.

Other sectors under the scheme include PLI for telecom and networking products. Due to the PLI scheme, sales of telecom and networking products have increased more than six-fold over the base year FY20, while exports have risen to INR 210.33 billion.  End
