First phase of Budget Session concludes; Lok Sabha adjourned till March 9

NEW DELHI – The first leg of Parliament's Budget Session that commenced on Jan. 28 concluded Friday and the Lok Sabha was adjourned till Mar. 9, when it will meet after a scheduled recess.
Earlier, as soon as the House met for the day, the Indian National Congress MPs raised slogans demanding resignation of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, whose name has appeared in the Epstein files, released by the US Department of Justice. Puri has confessed to have met convicted paedophile and human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein "three or four times".
Amid the sloganeering, the House was adjourned till 1200 hours. On reconvening, a few papers were laid on the table before the adjournment till Mar. 9. The second leg of the session will take place from Mar. 9 to Apr. 2. End
