--M&M arm launches e-3W Mahindra UDO, priced at INR 384,299 ex-showroom
NEW DELHI – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s subsidiary Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd. Thursday launched its electric autorickshaw named Mahindra Udo for last mile transportation. The company said that while the vehicle has been priced at INR 384,299 ex-showroom, it will be available for INR 358,999 for a limited period.
The Mahindra Udo is an "L5" vehicle, which is typically an electric three-wheeled commercial vehicle designed to ferry heavy-duty cargo or transport up to 4 passengers, including the driver. The Mahindra Udo will have a warranty for 150,000 km or six years, whichever comes first. Equipped with an 11.7 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, the vehicle will have a real-world range of 200 km.
The vehicle will cater to the domestic market. M&M will manufacture the Udo at its Zaheerabad facility in Telangana. This facility has a capacity of 160,000 units per annum with the current capacity utilisation at 90,000 units.
"MLMML (Mahindra Last Mile Mobility) has commissioned advanced manufacturing facilities at Zaheerabad plant, Telangana. It includes automated laser welding battery pack line, fully automated paint shop, and Bodyin-White (BIW) assembly line," M&M said.
For the December quarter, M&M reported a net profit of INR 39.31 billion on a revenue of INR 385.17 billion. Thursday, shares of the company closed 2.2% lower at INR 3,593.10 on the National Stock Exchange. End
