--GST officials start inspection of Cipla units, offices in Maharashtra
HYDERABAD - The office of the deputy commissioner of state tax, Maharashtra, initiated a search at Cipla Ltd.'s facilities and offices in the state Thursday, the company told the stock exchanges in a filing. The inspection is going on and the company is extending full cooperation to the tax authorities, it said.
The search was initiated by goods and services tax officials on alleged violation of tax compliance rules regarding payment of tax, claims of input credit, and refunds, Cipla said. The action has no impact on the company's operations, it said.
Thursday, Cipla shares closed slightly higher at INR 1,333.30 on the National Stock Exchange. End
